General Information

Florida Statute 28.12 states that the Clerk of Circuit Court shall be clerk and accountant of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) and shall keep the minutes and accounts and perform such other duties as provided by law.

The BCC Records Department is the official record keeper for the BCC. This duty includes: attendance at BCC meetings; transcription of the minutes; maintenance of files associated with the BCC; and keeping BCC-approved Resolutions, Ordinances and contracts and agreements. The BCC Records Department also functions as Clerk to the Value Adjustment Board (see Value Adjustment Board information link for further details).

The BCC Minutes from January 1990 through the present are indexed on the Minutes Minder system and are available on the Internet via the Minutes and Agendas button. Minutes from January 2001 to present also contain links to allow viewing of the submitted backup material for each Agenda item. Meeting Agendas from January 2001 to present, with links, are also available at the site. Ordinances are available on the Clerk's website, as well as through Municipal Code Corporation at www.municode.com.

The BCC Records Department is located in Room 131 of the Hernando County Government Center, Brooksville. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The telephone number is (352) 540-6216.
